The vehicle signal panel is electrically operated through a plug-in device for controlling and controlled cards. The destination sign panel operates in the controlling or controlled mode and is capable of controlling other panels. The controlling or controlled card is inserted in the plug-in device as required. The destination sign panel comprises an optical position indicator which records the position of the picture on the tape by means of a marking on the tape. The video tape support (1), drive, illumination, control and associated operating elements can be swivelled out or removed from the panel housing or video tape support frame. The system may also be used in railway stations, sports halls, etc.
