<p>Double (10, 11) curtain rails are usually stiffened by wooden inserts; but these can be expensive, and difficult to obtain in sufficient lengths. The present curtain rails are conveniently stiffened by cross bars, made integrally with the rail. The results are as good as with wooden stiffeners, although the cross bars are thin. 1 mm is found sufficient, more being of no particular advantage. There are two places (5, 6) where the cross bars intersect. The vertical bars (7, 8) are nearer the sides than the middle of the central space.</p> |
