The square column has pairs of slots on each of its faces, and is fitted with sleeves which have corresponding springy tongues (5) on two of their opposite sides. Each sleeve, which is made in two parts for ease of fabrication, carries welded strips whose ends (6, 7, 8, 9) point outwards along the diagonals of the square column. Additional U-strips are welded to two opposite diagonals (6, 9) and braced to the other two. Thus the sleeve accommodates all eight rods from which goods can be hung. The sleeves (3) can be moved upwards simply by sliding them up the column. To move them downwards, it is also necessary to slip something inside which will hold the tongues back.
