PURPOSE:To obtain the image of the sensitive material which has an excellent stability with age and a high optical density and a less tendency for generating a fog by incorporating a base precursor which contains 2-4 partial structures derived from a specified guanidine, in the photosensitive material. CONSTITUTION:The base precursor is composed of the base precursor consisting of a salt of carboxylic acid and an org. base, and the org. base is composed of diacidic - tetraacidic bases consisting of 2-4 partial structures corresponding to an atomic group excluded of one or two hydrogen atoms from guanidine, and one or more of hydrocarbon or heterocyclic ring residual groups as a linking group of the partial structure. In formula I, R<1>-R<5> are each hydrogen atom, etc. The preferable concrete example of the org. base is exemplified by the org. base shown by formula II, and the concrete example of the base precursor is exemplified by the precursor shown by formula III. Thus, the thermodeveloping photosensitive material which has the excellent stability with age and is capable of giving image density having a high S/N ratio, is obtd. |
