The anodic coating may be a Pt-group metal, oxide, alloy or mixture thereof, and may be applied by electro-plating or decomposition of an organo metallic compound under conditions which do not oxidize the valve metal. The barrier material may leave the valve metal applied thereto by sputtering. The valve metal layer may be at least 0.1 in. thick and the barrier layer 0.25 in. (graphite), 0.01-0.1 in. (B, W or Si) or 0.05-0.2 in. (TiC) thick. |
