Gas burner comprises a hollow casing (10) surrounded by a radiant metal surface (12) with holes for the gas-air mixture and with fins (24) exposed to the flames which are produced at the holes. The holes and fins may be formed by punching in a flat metal sheet, with each fin adjacent to and extending over the length of a hole. The fins may be inclined away from the holes relative to the plane of the metal surface. The fin is pref. formed by cutting the metal sheet along at least one edge of the fin so as to form the hole, while the other edge of the fin remains integral with the metal sheet. The metal surface may be formed from a flat sheet which is bent round to form a tube, and the adjacent edges of the sheet are then welded together or the adjacent edges of adjacent fins are welded together.
|
