<p>The auxiliary device for a length measurement tool comprises a readout scale, an adjustable spindle and an anvil which faces the spindle for measuring the position of a bore square to the longitudinal axis of a washpiece. The auxiliary device comprises a support body (10) between the spindle (5) and the anvil (6). The support body (10) is placed on the anvil (6) and is provided with at least two support surfaces, which are arranged at a distance from each other as well as a cut-out (24) lying between.
