The electric household baking oven with hot air blower comprises a door seal (4) and a pressure-tight muffle (5) which can generate overpressure. The oven door (1) may comprise a cover (3) which is connected by a universal joint (2), and a double-lipped seal (4) which abuts against the wall (5) of the oven and against the cover. Mounted on the door is a locking device (6, 7) which is coupled to a pressure release valve (13, 17) which is opened prior to release of the locking device. The lips of the door seal may be arranged so as to abut more firmly against the cover or inner wall of the oven chamber as pressure in the muffle increases. In the muffle there may be an emergency valve which can be returned by hand only.
