<p>1495338 Apparatus for cycling events J E MANUEL 20 March 1975 [22 March 1974] 11787/75 Heading A6M [Also in Division G3] An apparatus for use in cycling events includes a combined timer and start / finish marker 1, and course markers 2, 5, 5a. Two embodiments of the timer/marker 1 are described (see Division G2-G3) both comprising a supporting frame, a clock means and two transversely-spaced clock-actuating elements 4a, 4b the first 4a defining the course start and being actuable by a wheel to start the clock and the second 4b defining the course finish and wheel actuable to stop the clock. In the second embodiment (Fig. 5, not shown) the clock means has a dial that may be calibrated in points as the units of time. Course markers 2 are movable pylons, e.g. of polymeric material, which may have wire rods 33 forming horizontal rings 34 for supporting a ball 35.
