<p>The plastic stakes are shaped so as not to damage the plants, in that they are hollow and have a varying number of cells grouped round a central cell which may be cylindrical, oblong or square. A rod of circular or rectangular cross section may inserted down the central hole to increase rigidity and for guy-ropes to be fixed to the top. Support wires for the plants can be attached to the stakes, in notches in the sides. Alternatively, clips can be inserted over the stakes and kept in place by pins inserted through holes incorporated for that purpose in the stakes. The outside shape of the stakes prevents the clips from slipping round. The outside of the stakes may have notches spaced apart downwards, for the attachment of guy-ropes, clips or hooks.</p> |
