1465240 Measuring battery parameters REGIE NATIONALE DES USINES RENAULT and AUTOMOBILES PEUGEOT 2 Sept 1975 [3 Sept 1974] 36136/75 Heading G1U A method of determining the ampere-hour capacity available from a storage battery 1, comprises deriving an electric signal U c representing the time integral of the current taken from the storage battery, measuring the time which has elapsed since the beginning of the discharge and obtaining from the two signals, a signal UIM representing the average discharge current of the storage battery and deriving a further signal UCM representing the maximum battery capacity which can be anticipated as a function of the average discharge during the elapsed time. The temperature of the electrolyte is measured throughout the discharge by a sensor 8 and the signal UT is amplified by 9; the output U CT from 9 is applied to a summing circuit 10 together with the signal UCM and this provides a corrected signal U CMC proportional to the utilizable value of the quantity of electricity contained in the battery. The substractor 11 outputs a signal UCR to a display 12 which shows the capacity of the battery actually available. |
