<p>Portable safety chest for the safe guarding of personal valuables against theft; is designed for use on journeys, on holidays or in public changing rooms etc., having a base (1) which can be fixed to an immovable object (e.g. wall), and a cover (2) which then locks (23-25) onto the base and in so doing conceals the anchorage mechanism. The anchorage mechanism can be a suction cup (9) which is actuated via a lever (7) locating within the base. This lever has a screw jack (16-19) at its suction cup (9) remote end, to apply pressure to the cup. The assembled base (1) and cover (2) form a hollow hemisphere with the base being defined by the major circle and a parallel minor circle. The cup actuating lever (7) lies on a sphere diameter.</p> |
