<p>A shuttering spacer is hollow, made of plastic and is frusto-conical with a reinforcement fillet attached to its base. It has flanges on the inside of its walls to enable it to be centred on a wedge rod between two shutter panels. It can be extracted by means of a rod having at one end an extractor head which connects onto the inner flanges of the spacer and at the other end a stop. A hollow tube slides along the rod with a handle at one end acting as a runner. Once the spacer has been removed conical-section concrete plugs are inserted into the holes and grouted.</p> |
