FIELD: chemical industry. SUBSTANCE: methane is processed in system of reactors containing catalyst to produce hydrocarbons containing more than one carbon atom, and hydrogen. Hydrocarbon stock containing more three carbon atoms is added to methane in amount of less than 5.0 wt % with respect to total amount of hydrocarbon stock being fed into system of reactors, and process is carried out on catalyst comprising platinum group metal with degree of oxidation more than zero, at partial methane pressure of at least 0.05 MPa and at temperature of at least 440 C.
