The door or rear hatch moves between fully open and closed positions and consists of two panels, upper (2) and lower (3), joined together by a horizontal hinge (4). The upper panel is hinged to the body work of the vehicle by a second horizontal hinge (5). A pull rod (8) is fitted with horizontal axes (9, 10) to the edge of the vehicle and to one side of the lower panel. The horizontal axis on the vehicle body work is fitted below the upper panel hinge, so that when the door is opened, the lower panel folds back inwards, under the upper panel.
