<p>1465155 Moulding shoe uppers SOC IMMOBILIERE ET FINANCIERE SUCHET ALFORT 3 July 1974 [7 Sept 1973 28 Jan 1974] 29399/74 Heading B5A Preforms for the moulding of parts of shoe uppers are moulded by depositing and levelling plastics powder in a mould 4 by passing the mould beneath a hopper/distributer 12 to a heating device 23 where preliminary gelation takes place, and returning the mould to its initial position. The mould may alternatively continue to a final gelation and pressing station (not shown) before returning to its initial position. The mould 4 is mounted on a carriage 3 attached to housings 6 equipped with motor driven toothed wheels 7 engaging the teeth 2 of beams running along the sides of a table 1. The plastics powder is fluidized in a bin 9, is sucked up by a fan 14 and passes through a filter 15 into a hopper 12. A grooved roller 18 in the base of the hopper distributes the powder, and excess is removed from the sides of the mould by a roller 19 equipped with brushes, side rollers 22 and a scraper 21 and falls into the bin 9. The filled mould moves under a heater 23 comprising strip lamps, or infra-red or high frequency heaters. In another embodiment (Fig. 4, not shown), the mould is clamped to the carriage by pegs (28) operated by jacks and further jacks (29) operate a member which ejects the mould from the carriage. The bin (31) is covered by a vibrating grill (32) to sift the powder falling from the mould. The powder in the hopper is fluidized by air passing through its inclined floor and is distributed by opening a trap door (39) at the lower end of the floor. The supply of air to the bins, hoppers and jacks and the operation of electric valves are co-ordinated in a control box (not shown).</p> |
