1420146 Fixation of dyes on textiles HOECHST AG 28 March 1973 [29 March 1972] 14882/73 Heading D1B Flat structures of high-quality synthetic fibres which have been padded or printed with a dyestuff and an adjuvant comprising a nonionic thickener, a nonionic or substantially anionic wetting agent and a nonionic emulsifier are wound on a perforated cylinder which is then placed in a pressure vessel in the form of a skin, the pressure in the vessel is then reduced and the materials treated with a superheated liquid e.g. water to fix the dye. Preferably the pressure is reduced to 10mm of mercury or less, water being used at temperature of 110‹ to 135‹C. The Examples refer to fixation of disperse dyes on polyester materials. |
