1355360 Alternative pivoting motion windows or doors; stays WILH FRANK GmbH 19 April 1971 [22 April 1970] 27319/71 Headings E1J E2F and E2M A control device for selecting the alternative swivelling or tilting motion about alternative orthogonal axis of the wing or a door or window comprises a stay arm 6 which in use is slidably secured at one end to a guide on the upper part of the wing e.g. casement 2 and at the other end to the fixed frame 1 by means of a swivel bearing 4 for the wing, the arm cooperating for rotation with a first coupling member e.g. fork 11 which is adapted to engage releasably with a second coupling member 9 on the wing and which extends in use into a gap or recess 13 in the rabbet of the fixed frame, the arm 6 and coupling member 11 being arranged in different planes parallel to the plane of the wing. As shown the arm 6 is integral with or detachably secured to a sleeve 14 surrounding the pivot bolt mounted in the swivel bearing brackets 4a, 4b and cooperating with a plate 17 which is pivotally mounted on the vertical bearing axis 7 and to which is secured the fork 11 arranged to receive for swivelling movement of the wing a member 9 slidable on the wing by a push rod 10 located in the rabbet of the fixed frame 1. When the push rod 10 is moved downwardly the member 9 leaves the fork 11 and the wing is free to tilt about a horizontal axis at its lower end. Projection 22 in groove 23 on the plate 17 prevents rotation of the fork about its securing screw 19 when it is loaded by the member 9. Facings 12, 12a fixed on the wing conceal the couplings from view. |
