<p>The application is particularly to aerial or communications cables, but may also be extended to low power wiring. Installation is speeded by providing the calbe, which must have at least one flat surface, with a layer of self adhesive material. This layer is protected by a film in order to preserve its properties until the moment of installation. Both single and multicore calbes can be made with such a layer. In an alternative version an extrusion which may be made of plastics is provided with the adhesive layer. When this strip is then stuck into position the cable may be pressed or threaded into suitable fixings in the extrusion.</p> |
