1504258 Artificial hair S YAMADA 29 June 1976 [1 Aug 1975] 27048/76 Heading B5B Each hair comprises a monofilament of thermoplastic resin having a covollaceous crosssection, and a root formed at one end of the filament having a covollaceous cross-section larger than that of the monofilament proper. The filament is formed by extrusion through a spinning nozzle having a star-shaped crosssection drawing the monofilament preferably at a ratio of 1 : 3-1 : 5 cutting and heating one end of said cut piece to a softening temperature of the plastics material, e.g. 150-200‹ C. to obtain a root portion of cross-section similar to that of the remaining filament and a diameter about that of the initial monofilament. Suitable plastics materials are polyamides, polyesters, polyethylene or P.V.C. Each hair may have 5-8 corollas, have a diameter of 0À06-0À1 mm. a diameter of the root portion of 0À13-0À2 mm. and a root portion length of 1À0 to 1À5 mm. |
