Ejection of the stopper caused by pressure build up within the test-tube is prevented by annular groove 9 engaging the annular ridge as the stopper is caused to move outward under the action of the increasing pressure. Both ends of the stopper may have recesses 5, 6 to aid the insertion of a hypodermic needle.
