PURPOSE:To obtain a composition effective in improving the pH environment in digestive tracts and decreasing putrefaction product and having excellent remedying and preventing effect against hepatic encephalopathy, colon cancer, colon diseases, etc., by mixing an oligosaccharide and dietary fibers. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition for improving intestinal environment is produced by mixing (A) an oligosaccharide (e.g. raffinose or stachyose) and (B) dietary fibers (e.g. hemicellulose or high-methoxy pectin) as active components. The composition lowers the pH in intestine in high efficiency, improves the intestinal environment and decreases the putrefaction products. The composition may be compounded with a sweetener, a thickener, a binder, fruit juice, nutrient, etc., in addition to the components A and B. |
