PURPOSE:To prevent a battery consumed wastefully by detecting the fact that a video camera main body is connected to a negative/positive adaptor with a system control means, and prohibiting the charge of a stroboscope. CONSTITUTION:A stroboscopic mode switch 128 which selects the on and off states of the stroboscope 123 is attached on a main interface 125, and when a camera main body 100 is connected to the negative/positive adaptor 200, the connection of them is detected with a mechanical means, an electrical means, or a magnetic means, etc. Then, a negative/positive mode switch 203 is switched to a negative/positive mode, and also, a stroboscope off mode is set compulsorily by operating the stroboscopic mode switch 128. Thereby, since the system control means 116 prohibits the charge of the stroboscope, the wasteful consumption of the battery can be evaded, and also, a noise due to a charging current can be prevented occurring in the recording of an image. |
