A moulded wooden body comprises a core C and a surface-layer S, S comprising a pulverulent wood material W containing impregnated therein #15% wt. of a fire-proofing agent F based on total dry wt. of W. The maximum wt. of F is preferably #25% wt. W may be bound by glue G, F being soluble in G. W may comprise, as pulverulent wood material ,grinding dust from plywood sheets, repulverized sawdust, or pulverized trimming shavings from chipboards, such chipboards being glued or unglued; these chipboards may themselves have contained F, and may in fact be bodies according to the invention. W may also contain fibrous material. The chip layers and core layers below S may also contain fire-proofing agents. F may be boric acid with or without Sb 2 O 3 . The surface-layer may also include a fungicide and/or an insecticide. |
