PURPOSE:To obtain the superconductor powder capable of producing a Bi-based oxide superconductor wire having a high critical current density in a high magnetic field at a liquefied He and excellent in magnetic field characteristics by heat-treating the raw powder at a specified temp. in a reduced-pressure oxygen atmosphere or in vacuum. CONSTITUTION:The raw powder (e.g. BizSr2CaxCu2My powder where M is 1 kind among Ag, Pb, Ni, Co, Cr and Mn, 0.5<=x<=3, 0<=y<=1 and 1.5<=z<=3) is heat-treated at 800-880 deg.C in the reduced pressure oxygen atmosphere, in which the ratio of gaseous oxygen to gaseous N2 and/or an inert gas is controlled to 1/5-1/100, to obtain the Bi-based oxide superconductor powder. The obtained powder is intermediate-compressed at least once in the normal sintering stage of the metal-sheathed wire of the powder, and a Bi-based oxide superconducting wire is obtained. |
