CNS active dibenzazepine deriv. Compds. of formula:- (where R, R2 = H, alkyl, hydroxyalkyl, hydroxyalkoxyalkyl, phenylalkyl (the phenyl opt. substd. by halo, alkyl, alkoxy, amino or trifluoromethyl); R1 = H, alkyl; one of the X's is chloro, the others, hydrogen. The alkyl groups have 1-5C atoms) and their acid addition and quaternary ammonium salts have activity as anti-depressants, analgesics, anti-convulsants and tranquillisers.
