1515427 Rotary positive-displacement fluidmachines SHAFER VALVE CO 2 Aug 1976 [6 Aug 1975] 32166/76 Heading F1F In an hydraulic actuator for e.g. a valve (10), Fig. 1 (not shown), in a gas pipe-line, the rotor 55 has vanes 35, 36 fixed thereto and the housing 15 is furnished with stationary abutments, or "shoes", 37, 38,an end-plate 52 at the top of the housing having therein working-fluid inlet and exhaust ports 63, 64 communicating with one of two pairs of chambers between the shoes and vanes, and also having therein annular grooves 66, 67 and associated ports 68, 69 inter-connecting the chambers diametrically. This arrangement permits any gas entrained with the working fluid to escape through the exhaust port. The vanes and shoes have seals 61, 62 thereon. |
