MANUFACTURING METHOD OF A STUB SHAFT FOR A VEHICLE

A manufacturing method for a stub shaft of a vehicle is provided to enhance torsional strength by stabilizing organization of material through applying a forming method to bar material. A manufacturing method for a stub shaft of a vehicle comprises a step of fixing a bar(10) having a core therein to a mold(20) having a predetermined shape. Both end portions of the bar are manufactured by using a forming machine. A part of the bar is manufactured by a forming process. A stub shaft is used for one of a hollow shaft for friction welding, a drive shaft, a propeller shaft and an intermediate shaft. A spline of an end of the stub shaft is manufactured by an extrusion method. The bar used for the forming process has a diameter of 30mm or more. When the bar used for the forming process is subject to heat treatment, torque of 4,000Nm or more is transferred.
