A method and an apparatus for creating an image source for an LED channel display board are provided to improve a visual effect by supplying a low quality image data to an LED channel display board. In a method and an apparatus for creating an image source for an LED channel display board, a source file is input(403). Data are extracted from the source file based on the channel display panel information corresponding to the LED channel display panel(405). The image source is produced based on the extracted data(407), and the generated image source is transmitted to the LED channel display panel(409).
