PURPOSE:To purity a fuel gas containing CO, H, dienes, olefins and O- and S-compound without causing carbonaceous deposition by subjecting the fuel gas to hydrogenation at low temperatures, hydrodesulfurization, CO conversion at low temperatures, followed by heat recovery and removal of steam. CONSTITUTION:A fuel gas containing CO, H, dienes, olefins and O- and S- compounds in preheated at 100-250 deg.C by heat recovered from steam and/or a process gas. Then, the gas is subjected to hydrogenation at low temperatures for hydrogenating the dienes, olefins and O-compounds. The S-compounds are desulfurized by hydrogenation and steam is added to convert CO into CO2 and H (CO conversion at low temp.). Then, heat recovery and removal of steam by further cooling give a purified fuel gas. |
