CONSTITUTION:An operating disk 19 is constituted so as to rotate by interlocking with a slit disk 20, and its rotation amount is detected by light emitting elements 21, 21' and light receiving elements 22, 22', and it is outputted as a horizontal direction component signal. First of all, two pieces of fingers are placed on a hollow 19 of the operating disk 19 so that a button switch 13 can be operated with other two pieces of fingers, and when it is desired to move a cursor on a display in the horizontal direction, the operating disk 19 is rotated with two pieces of fingers. The rotation of this operating disk 19 rotates the slit disk 20, and from the light receiving elements 22, 22', a pulse corresponding to a rotation angle of the operating disk 19 is generated and the cursor on the display is moved in the horizontal direction.
