<p>Brick firing tunnel furnace comprises a suction chamber at the tunnel and where the fresh charge trolleys are introduced, so that they have to be introduced from the side, placed on a transfer trolley running on a track normal to the furnace track, through gates stopping air from entering the furnace. The charge trolleys are pushed off the transfer trolley inside and on to the track, a damper slide being provided operating upwards to seal off the lower trolley space. This arrangement allows complete control to be maintained at all times over the flue gas flow in the furnace, the gas flow not needing to be turned off each time the doors are opened for charing.</p> |
