1346512 Severing SIEMENS AG 19 Nov 1971 [11 March 1971] 53756/71 Heading B3D [Also in Division F1] A centre hole saw comprises a saw blade 4 carried by the rotor 3 of a gas turbine, which rotor is mounted in a stator 1. Means are provided by which the turbine bearings are lubricated by the gas passing through the turbine. As described the blade 4, which has a diamond facing 5, is secured to the rotor 3 by screws 13. The rotor carries blades 9, 11 and the stator carries deflector blades 10. The rotor is mounted in the stator by ball bearings 2. Gas under pressure is supplied from a nozzle 8 and follows the path 12 through blades 9, 10, 11 and bearings 2. The gas may be air or nitrogen and may contain an oil mist. It may be supplied from two or more Laval nozzles. The bearings 2 may be replaced by hydrodynamic or aero-static bearings. In an alternative embodiment the turbine blade rings are replaced by aluminium discs having oblique holes. |
