<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To collect a toll from a vehicle according to the congestion state of a toll road. SOLUTION: The ETC(electronic toll collection) system 2 is provided with a congestion detector 8 having a congestion signal controller 56 generating the number of congestion points according to the congestion states for every respective sections A, B, and C informed from a traffic control monitor 54, relating peculiar discrimination information for every congestion signal antennas 22a, 22b,...22n, and transmitting it to the on-vehicle device 16 of the vehicle 14 traveling on each section of the toll road as the number of the discount points. This constitution can thus specify which vehicle is caught in the congestion in the toll road and to what extent of the congestion the vehicle is involved in from the number of the discount points stored in the on-vehicle device 16 in an exist tollgate of the toll road and discount the toll based on the number of discount points obtained according the state of the congestion.</p> |
