PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique capable of reducing power consumption in network communication.SOLUTION: An image formation device 10 includes: a power supply unit 25; and network control units 20 (20a, 20b) for receiving power supply from the power supply unit 25 and controlling network communication between the image formation device and an external network apparatus. Each network control unit 20 includes: a physical layer chip 21 for network communication; and a filter 22 for analyzing contents of a packet during reception by the physical layer chip. Each network control unit 20 analyzes a reception packet during reception by the physical layer chip 21 with the use of the filter 22 as needed, stops the reception operation of the reception packet when it is determined that the reception packet is not for an own device, and also interrupts or reduces power supply with respect to the physical layer chip over a predetermined period. |
