PURPOSE:To reduce the power consumption of an information equipment like a portable computer, etc., without deteriorating the ability like the display speed, etc., by discontinuing the operations of undesired circuits when the display has no change. CONSTITUTION:The display circuit of a portable computer using a liquid crystal display is provided with a CPU 1, a CRT display drawing device 2, a CRT display 1st storage 3, a CRT display signal producer 4, a signal converter 5, a 2nd storage 6, a liquid crystal driver 7, a display means 10, a detector 8, and a controller 9. The detector 8 judges whether the display is changed or not, and the controller 9 actuates only the circuit of the driver 7 with no change of the display in accordance with the output of the detector 8. Meanwhile the controller 9 actuates the circuits 2 - 7 when the display is changed. Thus the processing speed is improved and the power consumption is reduced in regard of the transfer of data by transferring only the data with which the display is changed.
