A fastener comprises an outer shell 11 defining a chamber 17 in which a nut 23 is accommodated, the nut having at least one lug 25 which engages an internal shoulder 22 in the shell to retain the nut in the chamber and a resilient retainer 26 seated on the nut, the retainer having a resilient leg 29 which engages the lug and a groove 19 in the wall 18 of the chamber to limit the rotation of the nut in the shell. As shown, the nut and the retainer are provided with three lugs and three legs respectively, the retainer being mounted on the nut with the legs positioned between the lugs. Three grooves 19 provide clearance for the lugs when the nut with the retainer is inserted in the chamber. On rotation of the nut by one-sixth of a turn, the lugs rest on the shoulder 22 and the legs 29 spring into the grooves 19 to lock the nut to the shell. Serrations 15 secure the shell to a workpiece. |
