PURPOSE:To enable an image sensing device to be enhanced in performance by a method wherein an optical fiber bundle specified in refractive index ratio is arranged all over the surface of a solid-state image sensing element, and a light absorbing member is provided. CONSTITUTION:An optical fiber 3 is provided to each of photodetective elements 1a which are arranged in an array on the surface of a solid-state image sensing element 1, effective incident light 5 from a converging lens 4 impinging on the incident end face of the optical fiber 3 whose refractive index ratio is represented by a formula, n2/n1=sin(90 deg.-theta), is made to reach to the element 1a reflecting repeatedly inside a center section 3a, and ineffective incident light 5a whose incident angle is larger than an angle of theta exceeds the critical angle of the fiber 3 and is prevented from reaching to the element 1a, passing through the center section 3a and a peripheral part 3b to leak outside from the fiber 3. A light absorbing member is provided to the fiber 3 and the peripheral part 3a to absorb the light 5a so as to make incident light uniform in volume. By this setup, a solid-state image sensing device can be uniform in incident light volume, protected against fluctuation in image signals, and enhanced in performance. In the formula, n1 denotes the refractive index of a center section 3a, n2 is the refractive index of a peripheral section 3b, and theta denotes the incident angle of light 5 and the critical angle of a fiber 3. |
