PURPOSE:To prevent people from being confined in an elevator cage for hours till repair completion by dividing a coil provided in a magnet body of a solenoid brake available in an elevator or the like into a main coil normally in use and an auxiliary coil in use at only emergency, respectively. CONSTITUTION:Supposing disconnection occurs in a main coil during operation of an elevator, since magnetic force does not work between magnet bodies 11a and 11b, one end of an arm is closed by dint of energizing force of a spring. Therefore the arm comes to hold a rail in between, so that a brake is applied to an elevator cage. When the cage is braked, it is stopped at an optical position, so it is selected from the main coil 13 to an auxiliary coil 17 so as to make an electric current flow thereinto by a selector switch or the like. Subsequency, this auxiliary coil 17 is magnetized, opening one end of the arm from rail. In succession, the elevator cage is traveled up to the specified position, passengers in the cage are set down from the cage and then the magnet bodies 11a, 11b are checked on, repairing the main coil 13. |
