Method of preventing water seepage through rock

The method involves injecting gas, preferably air into the pores of the loose water-filled stone material, using an injection pressure which is greater than the hydrostatic pressure of the water held in the stone pores. The injection pressure is lower than the hydrostatic pressure which would break down the stone material into a fluid flow. Air may be injected into the rock vertically above the ground water and ending below the ground water level, or it may be injected horizontally into the rock.
