<p>The invention comprises compounds of general formula <FORM:1001479/C2/1> wherein R1, R2, R3 and R4 represent hydrogen, halogen, hydroxy, alkyl, alkoxy or acyl, at least one being acyl, and R3 not being acyl when R1 and R4 are hydrogen and R2 is hydroxy; and their preparation by reaction of an appropriate phenol or its salt with glycerol or a reactive derivative thereof. Pharmaceutical compositions comprise compounds of the invention with carriers or excipients. Preparations (syrups, drops, elixirs, solutions, powders, granules, tablets, dragees, cachets, pills, capsules, suppositories) are mentioned for oral, parenteral and rectal administration. The compounds are tranquillizers and muscle relaxants.</p> |
