PURPOSE: A disk cartridge and its chucking apparatus is provided to prevent a slip between a disk and a spindle motor in a removable disk drive, while not putting a load on a mechanism when the cartridge is loaded into or unloaded from the disk drive. CONSTITUTION: The disk cartridge(110) comprises at least two disks(114), a spacer, a diskhub(116), and a cartridge case(112). The disk hub(116) supports the disks(114). The cartridge case(112) houses the disks(114) and the disk hub(116), having a hole(112a) on a surface to make the disk hub chucked at a spindle motor(120). A ring shaped permanent magnet(118) is installed along the hole(112) for sealing it up. The disk hub(116) has supports(116a) supporting the disks(114) with a set space, and a chucking part(116b). The disk hub(116) composed of metallic material adheres to the permanent magnet(118) so it can prevent dust from coming into the cartridge case(112). The spindle motor(120) includes a motor housing(122), a stator(124), a motor hub(126), a shaft(128) and a bearing (129). A turn table(130) is installed on a upper face of the motor hub(126).
