PURPOSE:To provide a color-forming recording material which causes color formation having practically sufficient strength immediately after a coloring process and wherein a coloring area has strong absorption over a wide range from visible region to near infrared region by including therein a compound represented by a specific formula, oxidizing agent, and acidic substance. CONSTITUTION:Dyestuff having very strong absorption power and solidness in the range from visible ray region to near-infrared ray region can be prepared by including therein a compound represented by a formula I (A: monovalent aromatic group; B and X: bivalent aromatic groups, independent of each other; Y: -O-, -NH-, or -N lower arkyl-; R<1> and R<2>: hydrogen atoms, lower alkyl groups, aryl groups or aralkyl groups, independent of each other; R<3>: alkyl groups, aryl groups or aralkyl groups), quinoid type electron accepting compound, and aromatic carboxylic acid, and by bringing these materials into contact with one another. Consequently, a color-forming recording material which can be read out by semiconductor laser can be obtained. |
