<p>The external wing mirror (8) is mounted inside a transparent, or tinted, plastics housing (7) inside which is fitted a lamp fitting for festoon bulbs (11). These heat the rear of the mirror and prevent it misting or icing over. The light also illuminates the housing to serve as additional sidelights. The driver has a clear indication if the mirror heater is operating. The fitting clamps for the festoon bulbs are simple to make and fit, with the bulbs even fitted through tooling in the housing.</p> |
