A driverless railway system transports e.g. documents within a single organisation. Each rail vehicle (2) has a bin (4) with an upper opening through which the goods are loaded, and a lid (9). The bin (4) rests on a frame (3) which is securely fixed to the vehicle (2). The bin (2) rests on a rotating axle (5) which is parallel to the direction of vehicle (2) travel. When required, the bin (4) is rotated by a motor (6), exposing a hole in the bin base, and discharging the load. In the vertical position the base opening is closed by a fixed panel on the rail vehicle (2).
