<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent drop frame due to double buffering as much as possible. <P>SOLUTION: A GCL performs double buffering by two front frame buffers A and B. The GCL reads index data made to correspond to each image data two frame periods before the development timing of each image data, and executes processing to specify the development period for each image data. Then, when a development period to be specified from the index data is longer than a normal development period, the GCL starts development processing in an earlier timing than a timing when the development period is within the normal development period, and ends the development processing by the normal development end timing. Then, when the generation timing of a composite image is reached, the composite image is generated by compounding the front image and the background image, and a variation display device 6 is made to display the composite image.
