PURPOSE:To generate uniform temp. over the front surface glass of a discharge lamp of plane light emission type by preventing temp. rise in the neighborhood of each electrode lead of the lamp. CONSTITUTION:Two clear glass plates 1, 2 are put one over the other in tight attachment, and at least either of them 2 is furnished with a recess 3 to form a discharge path 5, and electrode leads 6-8 are fixed sealdedly at the end of this discharge path 5, wherein a heat conducting plate 17 prepared by enwrapping a high heat conductivity substance such as AlN, SiAlON, etc., with frit glass, etc., is placed over the front surface glass near the electrode leads and connected with a heat radiation board furnished on a rear surface glass. Through this heat conducting plate 17, heat is led from the front surface glass 1 and is radiated effectively at the rear surface to prevent temp. rise at the front surface glass, which is thus equipped with a uniform temperature distribution. |
