A novel material (A), having a fracture toughness (K lc; according to ISO 13586:200) of at least 1.2 (preferably at least 1.5) MPa.m 1>>2>, comprises at least one polymerized resin (I) selected from vinyl ester resins and/or epoxy resins polymerizable at less than 70[deg]C and a thermoplastic adjuvant (II), present in (I) in particulate form. Independent claims are included for: (1) the preparation of (A); and (2) composite materials (B) comprising a matrix of (A) containing reinforcement (III).
