1,008,444. Ball-point pens. T. NAKADA. May 30, 1962, No. 20787/62. Heading B6P. [Also in Division B5] In the moulding of a mounting and seating member for the ball of a ball-point pen, there is inserted into a heated end portion of a synthetic resin tube 1 a mould having parts 4, 5, 6 for forming, respectively, an ink flow down passage 3, guide grooves 5 for the ink, and the ball supporting chamber, and pressure is applied to the outside of the tube 1 so that the inside conforms to the mould. The pressure may be applied by rollers 9 pivoted to a support 8 so that when the latter is rotated centrifugal force on counterweights 15 biases the rollers 9 inwardly. Alternative moulding apparatus is described (see Division B5). Specification 1,008,445 is referred to. |
