摘要

PURPOSE:To provide an immunosuppressive agent capable of inhibiting antibody production in response to an antigen or implanted tissue dispensing with its continual administration for a long period of time and of inducing living body tolerance to antigens or implanted tissues. CONSTITUTION:The objective immunosuppressive agent can be obtained by extracting and purifying cysteine protease, a secreted protein accumulated in the tissues of parasitic helminth. When this cysteine protease is administered to a living body and a tissue of another kind of individual is implanted after several days, the immunoreaction of the living body to the implanted tissue can be inhibited even at the time after the lapse of one year.
